NASSAU, BAHAMAS – June 11, 2025, In a moment where timing and need collided, Cloud Carib answered the call. On June 4, the local Nassau-based tech firm hosted its second annual blood drive at its new headquarters in Caves Village, Nassau, joining forces once again with the Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) in response to a recent surge in emergency blood demands.
The drive, which welcomed donors from across the Caves Village business community, drew many volunteers, half of whom were Cloud Carib employees. With every pint of blood potentially saving up to three lives, the impact of the initiative extends far beyond those who donate.
“Giving back is part of who we are, but this effort speaks to something even deeper, the shared responsibility we have to support each other, especially when lives are on the line,” said Victor Kovacs, Chief Operating Officer at Cloud Carib. “We’re proud to partner with PHA and the local business community to make this event more than a donation drive. It’s a lifeline.”
PHA’s skilled phlebotomists ensured rigorous on-site screening, helping guide participants through the qualification process – a necessary step that many overlook. Blood donation requires meeting specific health criteria to ensure only the healthiest donations reach the national supply, often used within hours of collection.

“Every unit collected is a gift that could mean the difference between life and death,” said Nurse Tounia Knowles from the Public Hospital’s Authority. “We are deeply grateful to every person who showed up to give, especially those who were successfully screened. These contributions matter more than most realize.”
Support for the event was strengthened by contributions from Vita Malt of Commonwealth Brewery, Ernst & Young (EY), and businesses within Caves Village, whose pledges helped drive awareness and turnout.
Olivia Dorsett, Cloud Carib’s Director of Marketing & Communications, emphasized the importance of collective action, “While we’re a team of 30 here in Nassau, we knew this initiative had to extend beyond our office walls. Creating a space where the broader business community could step forward and literally ‘give life’ made this effort far more impactful.”

With plans to continue hosting the drive annually, Cloud Carib is doing more than just setting a precedent. It is building a legacy of leadership where corporate responsibility meets real-world need. The blood drive is just one part of the company’s growing commitment to community development.
Looking ahead, Cloud Carib continues its annual national impact through two major initiatives this summer focused on youth and technology. As a proud sponsor of both BETA Camp and HACK<IT> Camp this July, and through its support of the FEMStem organization, the company is investing in the future of STEM education across The Bahamas. These programs are equipping the next generation with tools to innovate, lead and transform.
Whether through urgent action or long-term mentorship, Cloud Carib continues to support and stand behind the community it calls home.
