NASSAU, The Bahamas, November 6, 2026 – Cloud Carib, the Bahamian-founded provider of sovereign cloud, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery services, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government’s digital transformation priorities following a courtesy call on the Hon. Sebastian Bastian, Minister of Innovation and National Development, Hon. Wayde Watson, Minister of State for Innovation and National Development, along with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Gaynell Rolle.

The Cloud Carib delegation included Founder and Chief Technology Officer Stelios Xeroudakis, Board Member and Advisor Damian Blackburn, and Account Manager Wendell Seymour.  The visit allowed the team to congratulate the Ministers on their appointments, strengthen engagement with the Ministry, and reaffirm Cloud Carib’s readiness to contribute local technical expertise in support of secure, reliable, and accessible public services.

For 15 years, Cloud Carib has worked behind the scenes with government agencies and Bahamian businesses to keep critical systems secure and available. Founded in Nassau in 2011 by Xeroudakis and Bahamian business owner Alana Wheaton, the company keeps its headquarters, its data centers, and its core team in The Bahamas, with facilities in Nassau and Freeport. That presence means public sector data can remain on Bahamian soil, under Bahamian law, and be managed by people who live and work in the communities they serve.

Across its operations, the company has more than 45 engineers who collectively hold over 400 technical certifications, bringing expertise in sovereign cloud, cybersecurity and disaster recovery to the organizations it serves.

“The Bahamas is where we started, where we are headquartered and where our commitment to building local technology capacity remains firmly rooted,” said Xeroudakis. “We welcome the opportunity to engage with Minister Bastian and Minister Watson, understand the Ministry’s priorities and contribute our experience in support of the Government’s vision for the country.”

As more public services move online, protecting national information and maintaining access to critical systems become increasingly important. Cloud Carib’s approach to digital sovereignty focuses on helping organizations retain control over where their data resides, how it is managed, and the jurisdiction under which it is held.

Resilience is another part of that commitment. As a company that has weathered major hurricanes alongside the communities it serves, Cloud Carib has made business continuity and disaster recovery central to its services, helping ensure that critical systems can be restored quickly after a storm or other disruption. Its Nassau and Freeport facilities give clients in-country options for backup, recovery and continuity planning.

“Digital progress depends on people being able to trust the services they use,” Xeroudakis added. “That requires secure infrastructure, clear accountability and the ability to recover when disruption occurs. It also requires people here at home with the skills to operate and support those systems.”

Over its 15-year history, Cloud Carib’s investment in The Bahamas has extended beyond technology infrastructure. The company has supported the Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement (BETA) Camp, offered internships and practical work experience to Bahamian students, and held cybersecurity seminars for school-aged students while encouraging opportunities for girls and young women in technology. These initiatives reflect the company’s belief that national digital development must also create opportunities for Bahamians to learn, build careers and contribute their expertise.

Cloud Carib reaffirmed its readiness to continue working with the Ministry and public-sector stakeholders as The Bahamas advances its digital agenda, bringing together local knowledge, regional experience and a long-term commitment to the country it calls home.
