Cloud Carib, the Caribbean’s leading provider of managed cloud and cybersecurity, announces the launch of the 2026 Cloud Carib Innovation Impact Award, an initiative designed to support Caribbean innovators developing solutions that create measurable value for citizens, businesses, and communities across the region.
Introduced under the Global Digital Infrastructure (GDI) initiative, the award will support Caribbean participants enrolled in the Global Digital Infrastructure Certificate, a four-month certification program delivered through the University of California, Berkeley. The program brings together professionals and innovators from across the Caribbean who are seeking to deepen their understanding of the infrastructure that powers the digital economy and apply that knowledge to regional development.
The 2026 Cloud Carib Innovation Impact Award reflects the tech firm’s commitment to enabling regional innovation through secure, resilient, Caribbean-based infrastructure. Selected candidates who complete the Certificate and meet the award criteria will be eligible to receive infrastructure support and cloud credits to develop, test, and scale their applications within Cloud Carib’s cloud environment, helping bring promising ideas to production-ready status.
The successful candidate will receive managed services from Cloud Carib with a total equivalent value of up to USD $18,000 over 2 years. The managed services will include compute, memory, storage, 24/7 monitoring, backup services, cyber protection, and access to technical support from Cloud Carib engineers.
To further support the initiative, Cloud Carib will contribute directly to the learning experience through the participation of its Senior Director of Public Sector, Eamonn Sheehy, who will serve as a presenter during one of the certificate program’s modules in July.
“This initiative reflects our belief that Caribbean innovation deserves Caribbean infrastructure,” said Sheehy. “The Innovation Impact Award is designed to give talented innovators the secure, scalable foundation they need to move from concept to execution and bring solutions to market that can make a meaningful difference across the region.”
Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Successful completion of the Global Digital Infrastructure Certificate
- Demonstrated innovation and originality of the proposed solution
- Clear evidence of positive impact in the Caribbean, including value for citizens, industries, or businesses in the region
By connecting education, infrastructure, and innovation, the program aims to support a new generation of Caribbean builders and problem-solvers, creating practical, resilient, and regionally relevant digital solutions.
